Let's imagine a work shop up in the clouds with the angel that runs it clothed in shrouds In one end of the shop, an elf makes heads While another beside him measures and threads The elf in the middle stamps out the nose and the one behind him assorts all the toes Then comes arms, legs, fingers, and feet All measured tested and sent down complete Then to the assembly room through a big long gear To complete little babies for the coming year On to the diaper room wrapped up tight Checked and final checked ready for flight Off to the delivery room, and a big stork there Will take it and fly off in the cool night air To all sorts of homes near mountains and streams And deliver these babies while mothers dream So dreams this mother on til morn To wake with joy, her child is born.
